Member of School staff to advise Government on Climate Change Policy
Professor Anna Davies, member of staff of Geography and recent ERC award recipient, will provide expert support to the government as part of a newly formed Climate Change Council charged with helping Ireland evolve towards a low-carbon economy. The Council will function to independently assess the Government’s progress in cutting carbon emissions, and will also advise on policy developments. Professor Davies is one of 11 experts on the panel, which also includes Trinity’s Professor Emeritus of European Agricultural Policy, Alan Matthews. Economist John Fitzgerald will act as Chair to the Council.
