School Lightning Talks 2015

The 3rd School of Natural Sciences Lightning Talks on 28th October 2015 saw 25 postgraduate students, postdocs and academic staff present 2-minute talks on their research. Talks were of a very high standard, capturing the breadth of research currently conducted in the school. The enthusiastic audience of around 70 members of the school, as well as a judging panel comprising Thomas Deane (TCD Communications Officer), Diane McSweeney (Science Gallery), Donal Daly (EPA), Fergus McAuliffe (iCRAG outreach officer), Will Fitzmaurice (Insight, UCD), Mary Bourke (SNS) and Jane Stout (SNS), judged the presentations and prizes were awarded as follows:
PhD Students: Conor Owens (1st), Kyle Heron (2nd), Alwynne McGeever (3rd)
Post-docs: Kevin Healy (1st), Anna Csergo (2nd)
Staff: Matt Saunders
BSBI prize: Conor Owens
Geology Society Joly prize: John Caufield
